Even though there is still Dre, the rap legend claims there almost wasn’t one. As a result of his brain aneurysm in 2021, Dr. Dre recently revealed that his doctors did not believe that he would survive.
Dolvett Quince of “Workout the Doubt” podcast reported earlier this week that doctors invited his loved ones to his bedside because they feared his condition would not improve.

Due to COVID, Cedars-Sinai hospital had prohibited visitors or family from coming in, but they allowed my family to come in,” he said. Later, I learned that they called them to say their last goodbyes since they thought I had left. Dre stated that he did not realize it was so severe at the time. He only remembers the constant check-ins and treatments he received during his recovery.
“So I’m in the ICU for two weeks,” “The Next Episode” rapper said. “Because of what was going on in my brain, they had to wake me up every hour on the hour for two weeks to do these tests. Basically looking like sobriety tests, like touch your nose, rub your heel on your calf and all that.
Asked if he felt like he had been in trouble, Dre replied that he “never did” and was looking forward to going home because he had been starving for two weeks.”

“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes,” he wrote. “I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars”.
It’s a bizarre thing,” Dre stated. “I have never had high blood pressure. Moreover, I have always taken good care of my health. Nevertheless, something happens for some reason with Black men and high blood pressure, and I did not anticipate it. However, I am taking good care of myself. I believe every Black man should check their blood pressure and make sure everything is in order.
I look forward to moving on and living a long and healthy life. It feels great to be in good health.”
