Rob Gronkowski Retirement
According to reports, last month, former Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski announced his retirement for the second time. Still, many fans were cynical, pointing out that the 33-year-old could return to football if Tom Brady contacted him.According to Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Evans, Gronkowski is done playing football for good
In a recent interview with Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston, Evans expressed his disappointment at losing a player of Gronkowski’s calibre. In 2022, he and the rest of the offence will be able to help fill the void.
“It is difficult to lose Gronk. According to the 28-year-old receiver, he is one of the best tight ends of all time. “However, we will have to make up for that in other areas. I must play better, the running backs must play better, and we all must play better collectively. We will miss Gronk, but I believe we will still be able to compete for a Super Bowl this season.”.He was then asked if Gronkowski would be back next season.
“I hope he comes back. I mean, with Tom and Gronk, you never know… but I feel like he’s done,” Evans said. “He plays the tight end position, and he plays it with max effort, gives it his all, practices hard takes a lot of shots, blocks, runs after the catch… He takes a pretty big beating, I’ve seen his body after some of their games, and I understand why (he would retire).”
Upon announcing his retirement on June 21, Gronkowski assumed he was done for good. In 2019, he retired for the first time, but this time around, he appeared to be more definitive about calling it a day.
Ann would like to thank the entire Buccaneers organization for an amazing ride, trusting me to come back to play again and help build a championship team,” Gronkowski said in an Instagram post will now be going back into my retirement home, walking away from football again with my head held high knowing I gave it everything I had, good or bad, every time I stepped out on the field.”
